My Values

My values shape the way I work and the relationships I build with schools. They influence every project I take on and are woven throughout my Pupil Powered Design approach.

Explore

Understanding your school and taking the pupils on a creative journey

I want to truly understand what my customers need and, just as importantly, why they need it. By understanding the thinking behind each project, I can create the most effective creative solution.

During my initial consultations with headteachers, I ask lots of in-depth questions to understand your goals, challenges and aspirations. This helps me build a creative strategy that is tailored to your school.

When working with pupils, I take a more playful approach. I become a guide, leading children through the 'jungle' to explore the what's and why's of our project. I encourage them to share ideas, ask questions and think creatively, helping them develop a deeper understanding of the project and their own contribution.

Play

Playing with creativity and harnessing curiosity to make learning memorable

I believe everyone, whatever their age, should embrace play and stay connected with their inner child.

Whether I'm spending time with family and friends or exploring ideas through my own creative projects, play is an important part of who I am. Bringing that same sense of fun into my work helps me connect with the children and schools I work with.

Using creative play, I guide pupils towards an end goal while encouraging them to explore ideas, deepen their understanding and enjoy the journey. When learning is enjoyable, children naturally become more engaged and retain information without even realising they are learning.

Inspire

Sparking ideas that create lasting impact

I have been described as a Creative Catalyst because my role goes far beyond graphic design.

The conversations I have with headteachers often inspire new ideas and opportunities for their school. My Pupil Powered Design approach encourages children to think big, explore possibilities and develop their own creative ideas.

The designs I create are part of a wider strategy to enhance children's experience of school, helping them feel motivated, inspired and excited to learn. I want to spark imaginations, encourage curiosity and show children what is possible when creativity is given the opportunity to flourish.

Creativity

Building confidence through creative thinking.

Creativity underpins everything I do.

I'm passionate about promoting creativity in schools to help children build vital future skills to help them thrive and also support emotional well-being

Academic learning is incredibly important, but it isn't enough on its own. Young people also need the confidence to think differently, communicate clearly, solve problems, adapt to change, innovate and make unexpected connections and keep going if the first idea doesn't work.

That's where creativity, creative thinking and critical thinking come in.

By involving pupils in the creative process, they become more engaged with school initiatives because they feel a stronger connection and understanding of what they're helping to create. Their ideas regularly surprise me and help shape the final outcome.

My Character Design Workshops are designed to give pupils an insight into the creative process, from generating ideas and evaluating them to adapting and developing something completely new. I've seen first-hand how powerful this can be in building confidence, resilience, communication skills and aspiration.
